About This Quote
This quote is found on the back of the publication of the book “The Art of Fiction” by Ernest Hemingway. It is a well-known quote to writers and creative people in general. What is less well known is that it came from a letter he wrote to Ezra Pound in order to encourage Pound to continue writing. The letter goes on to say: “When you have a period of work it is necessary not to interrupt it until it is finished.
Otherwise you weaken your chances of doing anything worthwhile in the future. I have been at work nearly every day, sometimes two or three times a day, for ten years and have never been interrupted during that time.”
